Carmina Burana

 Sunday 14th May you may enjoy  a live performance of Carmina Burana at the TAM Teatro Adolfo Marsillach, in San Sebastán De Los Reyes at 19h.
The tickets cost 10€ and all  the proceeds go to a good cause.

AT THE LIBRARY

One of the first things we did when we received funding for our activities was to buy 
copies of  The Collected Works of Oscar Wilde for our association.
Tuesday 9th May at 19:15h we will be using our books to read one of his short stories.

The Nightingale And The Rose

Jane Anne has suggested complementing it with a story by another great author, Hans Christian Andersen and to  read The Nightingale. Brilliant idea.

TALKING POINT FOR MAY 10th

This is quite controversial but it also deals with the loneliness displaced people feel and how important it is for them to be with people from their own culture too. 'Otherwise you isolate people and a kind of sub culture developes,' the article says.

We also came across another article that is relevant to the debate as it perhaps helps explain the attraction between people who are worlds apart.

As Juarez a Mexican President once said, 'There will be no peace until we respect other cultures.' Read the articles and come and tell us what you think.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND BILLIONAIRES

For our talks on Wednesday 26th Audrey has sent us a glimpse of the future as seen through the eyes of  billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.

Obviously these highly intelligent men have remarkable ideas but thanks to the links we should be able to express a few ideas of our own.

The articles and humorous accounts are well worth reading.
The picture of the floating stones is not really relevant.

There, rosebuds compete in beauty and gardeners present their roses for an awesome competition in beauty. The black rose some say is only a very deep red but is this true?
