Do they exist? Did they exist in mediaeval times? Why are dragons found in tales across different cultures? We have some of  the answers in the links Eva has sent us for this week's topic.

In the meantime enjoy this wonderful clip from last year's Red Nose Day charity initiative by Coldplay... a Game of Thrones musical! A great idea to raise money for charity. Here is Rastafarian sung by Emilia Clarke who plays the Mother of the Dragons in the extremely popular TV series The Game of Thrones

CAMERAS OUT FOR SPAIN'S BEAUTIFUL WILD FLOWERS

OUR ANNUAL TRIBUTE TO MR WILDE
PUT YOUR PHOTOS HERE!

MARIBEL'S TRIBUTE

My favourite walk

Many people love their city and I can understand ithat. But, I love 3,5km of my little town, this place is so small that it hasn´t a name (can you believe it?). I try to go for walks there every day but it is not always possible. When I go towards it, I always think ….and today, what will be the surprise?  New docket leaves? New flowers?  Birds?  Rare clouds? My little walk in the National Park of Guadarrama, I believe, is the most vibrant and exciting place that I can imagine. These days everything is working hard before our hot, dry summer: growing, blossoming… so there are orchids, rosemary, muscaris, thyme and of course, the queen...the rockrose, in Spanish … jaras. All of them are saying, if you think we are beautiful, wait until you see May and the little wild roses!

PERFECT DANDELION CLOCK

'To look at a thing is very different from seeing a thing. One does not see anything until one sees its beauty. Then and only then, does it come into existence.'

READINGS AT THE LIBRARY APRIL 18th See you there!

Our two writers are Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Zadie Smith. Both ladies are contemporary, popular writers.

Chimamanda is Nigerian. She started a blog about what it was like to be a non- American black person living in the U.S.A. The extract we will read will be the first pages from her novel Americanah.

Zadie's novel WhiteTeeth revolves around two main characters, Archie, a quiet Englishman living in a very  multicultural society and his friend and companion in arms during the second world war, the Bangladeshi Samad.
The extract we will read will be Archie's failed  attempt  suicide from the first pages of her novel White Teeth.

You will enjoy these talented writers' reflections and insight.

TALKING GROUPS

For us it has been a pleasure to share one of our activities with  the new association Asociación De Vecinos de Dehesa Vieja on Fridays in el Centro Cívico Pepe Viyuela.

They have been able to attract neighbours to see the lovely facilities they have there and to partake in interesting discussions in English.

We  are very happy to have had this opportunity to make friends and wish them every success in the future.

ASEDOW  will continue looking for more ways to help everyone use their English in a meaningful way.

Every Wednesday you can find us discussing everything under the sun 💬💭💭💭in sala 1. 1. in  la Universidad Popular, Av Baunatal, San Sebastián De Los Reyes at 18:30h or you can contact us here: asedow@gmail.com
